In harmony with culture
Hunting in Lithuania is more than a craft or a pastime. Since ancient times, it has been an integral part of human life, allowing us to survive and learn about the natural world. It was a medium through which the entire material and spiritual culture and lifestyle of that time spread.
Hunting occupied a special place in the life and mythology of the Balts. Deer were considered sacred animals, and the nine-horned deer was one of the most important symbols in folklore. Forests were special mystical spaces, where the goddesses Medeinė and Medžiojima lived.
In the Middle Ages, hunting became not only a privilege of the nobility, but also an important part of state life. It played a particularly significant role in the preparation for the Battle of Grunwald. Vytautas the Great and Jogaila, hunting in the Białowieża Forest, not only accumulated supplies for their armies, but also ensured the supply of food for long campaigns.
In addition to the practical aspect, the great hunts also had political significance.
They were often attended by foreign nobles, with whom the aim was to strengthen alliances or negotiate important state issues.
Hunting is often depicted in Lithuanian legends as an important event that paved the way for the emergence of cities and their history. Cities such as Vilnius, Alytus, Trakai, Raseiniai, Biržai, Telšiai, Šiauliai and others associate their beginnings with special hunting events or symbolic signs that inspired their founders. Princes and hunters, guided by dreams, signs of fate or impressions during hunting, discovered special places that later became the founding sites of cities.
Hunting in Lithuania is not only a centuries-old activity, but also a reflection of our national identity. It is a respect for nature, a spiritual journey, and a long-standing tradition that allows us to feel one with our ancestral heritage and the spirit of nature.

In harmony with nature
Game is not just meat – it is the breath of the wild that we can feel on our plate. It comes from meadows, forests and swamps, where animals live freely, unconstrained by fences or enclosures. This meat is imbued with the energy of natural life and reminds us of man's connection with nature.
First of all, game exudes a true taste of freedom . Animals, wandering in the forests, feed on berries, acorns, herbs - their life and diet are a natural part of the ecosystem. The taste, which is given by the aromas of wild meadows and forests, is unique. It is not only food, but also a story, reflecting the cycles of nature and harmonious life without human intervention.
